Incline Equalizer™
What is it? What does it fit? The Incline Equalizer™ is Billet 6061 aluminum. It is machined in small quantities to maintain tolerances, quality, fit and finish here in the USA.
It is designed to be used with Weber's® replacement Carburetor for Jeep® vehicles, 1972-1990 equipped with the 258 6 cyl. using a 2 barrel intake manifold. It replaces the manifold adapter plate that originally came with the Weber® carburetor kit, all of the original kit hardware gets re-used, a new gasket set is provided for your convenience.
It is an "upgrade" for your upgraded carburetor, it simply increases your ability to idle and maintain throttle at greater inclines, without "loading up" or stalling as easily during off road maneuvers.
History
The original development concept of the Incline Equalizer™ was to correct the pitch of the Weber® upgrade replacement carburetor, made for the 1972-1990 Jeep® 258 6 cylinder (2 barrel), when a lift kit is installed that requires the transfer case to be lowered. By lowering the transfer case, as instructed by multiple manufacturers, your carburetor is now compromised in its ability to maintain an idle or a smooth throttle while driving up a steep grade or rock crawling. Typically, 7 degrees of incline performance are lost; the Incline Equalizer™ was developed to correct loss by tipping the carburetor to its original position.
Further testing has demonstrated that the Incline Equalizer™ can also be used with "non" transfer case lowering lift kits and provides even greater climbing/crawling abilities over its original kit application, by positioning the carburetor forward of its stock location. Down grade descents have not been compromised. With this product installed, the carburetor maintains idle and throttle response with no fuel spillage descending.
